Well a situation may arise that you have two dogs and one of the dogs develops a bad breath and you are concerned that the other dog does not catch this bad breath. The thing is that bad breath itself is not contagious, so if one dog has bad breath the other one cannot just catch that bad breath. That said, it needs to be identified as to what is causing the bad breath. If it is just a case of poor oral hygiene then that's fine however if the dog is suffering from a more serious illness like H. Pylori, the bacteria that causes ulcers in humans, or if the dog has trouble eating, has foamy greeny stuff at the back of the throat then it won't be wise to let that dog share eating/drinking utensils with other dogs.
